Cable Management 101
A clean build not only looks better but also performs better. Don't let the spaghetti win.
1. Why it Matters
Airflow: A clutter of cables can block fresh air from reaching your components,
leading to higher temperatures.
Maintenance: It's much easier to upgrade or clean your PC if you don't have to
fight a rat's nest of wires.
Aesthetics: Let's be honest, we all want our build to look good through that
tempered glass panel.
2. Planning
Before you plug anything in, look at where the connectors are on your motherboard and identify the nearest cable grommet or cutout in the case. Route cables behind the motherboard tray before connecting them.
3. Tools of the Trade
Velcro Straps
Reusable and easy to adjust. Highly recommended for the main cable channels.
Zip Ties
Permanent and tight. Good for bundling cables together where they won't move. Be careful when cutting them!
4. The "Back" Side
The back of your case doesn't have to be perfect, but it should be flat enough for the side panel to close easily. Group cables together (e.g., all front panel cables) and tie them down to the case's tie-down points.
